The World Leather Contest, organised by Lineapelle, is in its final stages as contestants from three Italian fashion schools will be put to a panel of industry judges, as well as online voting, to find a winner.

Each of the three fashion schools participating in the contest has focused on one category, with eight finalists from the Fashion Design Womenswear and Fashion Design Menswear Masters courses at Istituto Marangoni of Milan focusing on the Clothing category, while five finalists from the undergraduate course in Leather Technology at Polimoda di Firenze concentrate on the Footwear category.

Meanwhile, 10 students enrolled in the First Level Academic Diploma in Costume & Fashion course at Accademia Costume & Moda di Roma are entering the Leather Goods category.

All of the finalists’ projects will be on exhibition at the Fieramilano Rho during Lineapelle, the international leather fair, from September 22-24, where the award ceremony will also take place.

While the panel of industry judges, comprised of leather experts, fashion designers, and journalists, will make their decisions following the exhibition at Lineapelle, online voting is live now and will run until September 5. Click here and find out more about each project and vote.
