Stellantis has reported its financial results for the first half of the 2022 financial year, achieving further record results after doing the same in 2021.
The company reported net revenues of €88 billion, an increase of 17% over the same period in 2021.
Net profit for the first half of the year was €8 billion, reflecting growth of 34%, while adjusted operating income (AOI) was €12.4 billion, up 44%, with a margin of 14.1%.
The company noted that it ranked second in battery electric vehicle (BEV) and low emission vehicle (LEV) sales in the EU30 market, and third in the U.S. for LEV sales.
In North America, Stellantis achieved record profitability during the first half of 2022, recording an AOI margin of 18.1% with market share to 11.3%, with U.S. specific share up to 11.7%. Its Jeep Wrangler 4xe was the bestselling plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in the U.S., selling 19,000 units in the period (up 55%).
In the enlarged Europe (EU30) market, the company achieved an AOI margin of 10.4%, while market share for the region was 21.2%. The Fiat New 500 was the number one selling BEV in Germany and Italy and the Peugeot e-208 was the best-selling BEV in France, Stellantis reports.
In South America, AOI more than tripled to €1 billion, with a margin of 13.9%, and Stellantis was the market leader in the region with a share of 23.5%. Fiat was the top-selling brand in the region and Jeep was the top-selling SUV brand in Brazil.
Meanwhile, in the Middle East and Africa market, the company reported a record AOI margin of 15.5% and an AOI of €472 million, with market share up to 11.9%. Finally, in China, India and Asia-Pacific, the AOI margin was 13.4% with AOI up 40% to €289 million.
