High-end leather handbags and accessories brand, Aspinal of London, reported a 24% increase in sales to £29.4 million (US$39.7 million) in the year to March 2017.
The good performance follows the previous profitable year of 2016, when a 27% rise in sales was recorded. The growth in 2017 has been particularly attributed to the success of online sales (+36%), with increased repeat purchasing. Luxury sales in the UK are also said to have been boosted by a weaker sterling currency, attracting more overseas-spending tourists.
The Group has opened new stores in the UK over the past year and says it plans to expand in China, a priority market.
