ALCA gearing up for its 110th annual convention

The American Leather Chemists Association (ALCA) has announced the speaker and social programme for the 110th ALCA annual meeting.

The keynote presentation, the John Arthur Wilson memorial lecture, will be delivered by Jakov Buljan, Consultant and is titled: “Some time considerations about international technical co-operation in the tanning sector.”

The annual meeting will take place June 18-20, 2014 at the Gideon Putnam Resort, Saratoga Springs, NY. The opening dinner and annual ALCA golf tournament will take place on June 18 followed by the technical sessions on June 19-20. The ALCA banquet will take place on June 19 as well as the traditional ALCA fun run.

One of the key presentations given at this year’s convention will be “Engineered Genuine Leather (without a cow)” presented by Gabor Forgas of Modern Meadow LLC.

Presentations will also be given on environmental topics, finishing, new machinery and there will be a discussion panel on current and future challenges of working with leather by prominent end-users.
