It is a curious reality that during the pandemic three areas – community, government and science – have been shown to be vital. Yet, all three have spent some years under increasing pressure in political debates which have also been changing other 20th century assumptions. These include the continued growth of free market capitalism, globalisation, western democracy and even disruptive innovation.
